Where do my flower bulbs come from?
Most of our flower bulbs come from our own nursery in Vijfhuizen. This nursery is called Van Haaster Vijfhuizen (VHV). In addition, we work with an old friend who lives nearby on his own farm. Naturally, all flower bulbs come from the beautiful Netherlands.
How long can you store flower bulbs?
Preferably plant your flower bulbs shortly after receipt, within the indicated planting period. Store them in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place until planting. Follow the instructions on the packaging.
How should I plant the flower bulbs?
Planting flower bulbs is generally simple. Dig a hole in the ground, place the flower bulbs with the point up and cover them with soil. Make sure you follow the recommended planting depth indicated on the packaging. Then water them and wait for the beautiful flowering. Clear and simple instructions are included in the box. This not only makes it fun but also super easy!
When is the best time to plant flower bulbs?
Spring-flowering bulbs are planted in the autumn. The planting period and depth vary by species; therefore, follow the instructions on the packaging. Also, maintain the indicated distance between the bulbs.
Can I plant flower bulbs in pots?
Yes, flower bulbs can also be planted in pots or containers! Make sure the pot has drainage holes so excess water can drain. It is also important that the pot does not freeze in the winter, so find a suitable place for the pot during the winter. Use good quality potting soil and follow the planting instructions. Please note that flower bulbs in pots may require slightly more care and water than flower bulbs in the ground.
